From “What Is Hygiene Insecurity?” to 2 Million Products Donated

  • Gina Bollus

Hope & Comfort Hygiene Hub - a Needham, MA based nonprofit dedicated to providing sustained access to hygiene essentials - needed help beefing up their in-kind partner engagement. After all, they couldn't distribute 5 million products per year without actual product!

We wanted to engage Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) brands in our mission and ultimately get them to donate in-kind product that Hope & Comfort Hygiene Hub could distribute through 600 partners throughout the state of Massachusetts.

There was just one problem...

What is hygiene insecurity? And why should these companies care about it?

So, we created a core message build specifically for this CPG audience marrying the real life implications of hygiene insecurity including physical and mental health issues with how their in-kind donations would make an impact not just on the beneficiaries but on their business.

The results?

  • 6 new in-kind product partners

  • 2 million products donated

  • Ability to shift 2025 goal from 5 million to 5.3 million products donated

  • New databased of engaged donors
